Privacy at CromaKit

CromaKit is a free directory of green screen kits. We want you to know exactly what data is kept and why. In short: there are no accounts, we don't use cookies or ad or analytics trackers, and the little we keep lives on our own server.

When you visit the site

We don't use cookies, ad pixels or third-party analytics. The site doesn't load scripts, fonts or images from other services.

Your language is picked with the ES/EN/PT button or ?lang= in the address; it isn't stored in your browser.

Like any web server, ours records technical data for each request (IP address, date, page requested and browser) in access logs that we use only for security and troubleshooting. Those logs are rotated and deleted automatically.

The share buttons (WhatsApp, X), the App Store link and the Mercado Pago payment links only contact those services if you click them; from then on their own privacy policies apply.

If you subscribe, we keep your email, the language you chose, your subscription status (pending, confirmed or unsubscribed), sign-up and confirmation dates, random codes used to confirm and unsubscribe, and the IP address you signed up from (to curb abuse).

This data is stored in a MongoDB database on our own server. Emails are sent through Purelymail, our email provider.

We use double opt-in: we don't send you the newsletter until you confirm from the email we send you. Newsletter issues contain no tracking pixels.

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email. If you want your data deleted entirely, email us. We don't sell or share your email.

Anonymous download counts

When you click to download a background or an overlay, your browser sends just three things: the kit id, whether it's a background or an overlay, and the page language.

We keep only daily totals per kit and language. These counts store no IP, cookies, browser details or any identifier, so nobody can tell who downloaded what. We use them to see which kits help most and to make better ones.

Emails to brands (sponsors)

When we email brands to propose sponsoring CromaKit, those emails may include an open pixel and tracked links that record when the email was opened or a link was clicked, along with the IP and browser.

This applies only to those emails we send to brands. It doesn't apply to site visitors or newsletter subscribers.
